Much has been said over the last few months about the Mozilla Firefox browser and how it seems to be gaining market share. Some people speculate that Firefox will soon capture the market similar to the way Internet Explorer crept up on Netscape some years back, but I imagine that’s just wishful thinking on the part of some folks who are anti-M$ and those who just routinely vote for the underdog.

Now, just for the record, I generally fit into both of those categories. But an article written by John Allsopp (Tipping Firefox across the chasm) gives some real food for thought on what it will take to truly bring Firefox mainstream. And while I don’t expect Firefox to have an actual tipping point, I do expect to see it continue to grow in the coming months.

When she switches from Internet Explorer to Firefox, then I’ll consider it mainstream. Until then, it’s still my personal favorite browser. And with that I bid you adieu while I go to look for some more cool Firefox extensions to install and play with.

And, for the topic of this entry, what impact will it have on our relations with our spouses and others in our circle of friends, family, and co-workers?

Okay, got my domain name up and running. Decided to go with Movable Type for now. Looks interesting. Still need to dream up a new design though.

Also, my wife actually wanted her own blog!! Now, I don’t know how long that will last, but we share no hobbies so if she sticks with it we could have a lot of fun. Anywho, her blog is at amanda.weissblog.com.
