I know, it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything. And it hasn’t been because I’ve run out of topics. The news has been full of things that I could discuss. But, time is short currently, as my body readjusts itself to my new shift at work. (drum roll please) I’m back on days, Praise God!!!

One thing that I wanted to throw in here is a new product I’ve come across. It’s called a Jen Fe Next weight loss patch. Amanda and I have been using them for nearly three weeks now. Neither of us have changed our diet or started an exercise regimen (though we keep talking about it) and we’ve still managed to lose weight and, more importantly, inches. Now, I’m not talking about we think we’re losing inches. We’ve been measuring ourselves and I’ve lost over an inch in my midsection each week. Now, for some folks the patches may be a bit high, as they’re $69.99 for a one month supply. For more information you can go to the company website for Nexagen or drop me an email.

Now for the good part. Let’s say you go buy some patches and you like the results. Everyone is asking you your secret and you’re telling them to go to the website. That’s great! But how about if you could get paid every time someone makes a purchase? Well, Nexagen also has a distributor program. There’s a bit of a start up cost and all, but the program itself is similar to Avon in that you take the orders and then you order the products and deliver them. Or, you can refer everyone to the website and still get credit for the sale. It’s not for everyone and yes it does have a bit of a MLM spin on it, but for some folks it could be an easy way to make some extra money. I know my wife and I aren’t great salespeople but we’re selling these patches like hotcakes because people can see the inches of fat that we’ve lost and they come to us asking questions. We just hand them a brochure and keep going. Easy money, really.

UPDATE: overall, the patches appeared to work but it was an expense we couldn’t justify in the long run so we quit buying and selling them. More recently, the link to Nexagen hasn’t been working so I’m not sure what happened to them.

There has been much press on Terri Schiavo’s case recently. And while I haven’t wrote about it here, it has been the topic of much conversation in my house. Recently, while listening to a Christian radio broadcast about the case something struck me. Everyone is asking for people to write letters, make phone calls, and even pray that the judges, state congressmen, and federal congressmen make right decision to help ’save Terri’s life.’ But I have yet to hear anyone, even in the Christian media, to cry out for Terri to be healed. Why is that? Do we no longer believe God can heal?

When God brought this to my attention I was stunned. People across the world are speaking out in this case and praying for the court case. But no one is praying for Terri. Well, that changes now! I’m putting out a call to arms for all those out there who have the faith to believe for a healing. Take time and earnestly pray for Terri. Voice this prayer request at your church and have everyone join in agreement. The Word says in Matthew 18:19 [Amplified] “Again I tell you, if two of you on earth agree (harmonize together, make a symphony together) about whatever [anything and everything] they may ask, it will come to pass and be done for them by My Father in heaven.”

I don’t want to see Terri ‘win’ by staying on a feeding tube. I want to see her recovered… restored. I’d love to see her walk up to her husband and tell him exactly what she thinks about how he’s treated her, but that’s not very nice of me, is it? :D

For those of you who don’t believe it can happen, please keep sending letters and making phone calls. Everyone should help where they can.

A recent article in the New York Times has me thinking about moving. It seems that there are several cities towns across the country that are trying everything to keep from dying out… including giving away free land on which you can build you dream home (some tax free even). Will it work? I doubt it. But I can’t fault the mayors for trying.

The results are in and the cities are going to merge. Here’s the unofficial results:

In favor of consolidation- 1860
Against consolidation- 1168

In West Helena
In favor- 993
Against- 609

In Helena
In favor- 867
Against- 559

On the Question of the Name-Helena-West Helena
For- 1685
Against- 1200

So, now we get to spend the next 9 months planning, cussing, and discussing how to actually merge the two cities. To assist with this, I’ve setup a website for those interested. You can find it at Helena-WestHelena.com.

It’ll also be interesting to see how the politicians from each city reacts and see if they are going to cooperate with the new politicians that will be elected come June (I say new because I doubt any of the existing ones will be re-elected).
