I was just reading a post on the Take Up The Shield blog about being ‘just a cop.’ Now, I know I am in the job I’m in because that’s were God wanted me. It fits His plan for this time in my life. Who’s to say when it will be time to go, or if it will ever be time to go. But, for now, I am where He wants me. As a born again child of God, I’ve read scriptures in the Bible that can encourage an officer. But Chaplain Tony mentions a couple I hadn’t seen before and uses scripture to answer the question of “Why?”

Well, after nearly 15 months as a police officer I finally broke down and asked another officer to pull a ticket for me. I really didn’t want to do it, but it was for a friend spouse of a friend so I did it. Really wasn’t a big deal, just a citation for his window tint being too dark. But when I was talking with my friend a couple things were said that really hit me as annoying.

I’ve been working on my mortgage site this evening. There were several errors in my glossary that I’ve been meaning to fix. Also, when I switched the site over to Drupal I never fully copied the glossary anyway, so I was missing a lot of terms. Then I got to looking around to see what words people use that weren’t there. Came across some good ones. When I finally quit I had 499 terms, so I just had to go back and add one more.
Now to just get off my tail and write some more articles to put on it. I’ve got a couple topics to write about already. YSP, mobile homes, and a couple more. One of these days.
I’d be more motivated if I were still making $150+ a month off the site, but since Google and I had our differences a year or so ago I haven’t received a single dime off the site.
I just can’t seem to get people to click on the other ads I’ve put up. Could be because the people that are advertising on BidVertiser and Kandoodle don’t seem to write the same quality sales pitches that those on Google did. Maybe I should just try selling some sponsorships or something. It shouldn’t be hard, I get good traffic, honest.
I’ve been meaning to write this one up for several days now. This past week about 30 minutes till midnight (my quitting time) I was turning out on to the bypass (southbound) when I realized that there were a pair of headlights heading toward me… northbound… in a southbound lane. As the car slowly passes I stopped and stuck my head out the window to stare at the car in utter shock. The driver stuck his head out and said, “I know, I know, I’ll fix it.” He then drove about another 20 feet and stopped again saying, “I know, I’m on the wrong side of the road. I’ll fix it.” I turned my car around and followed this guy up to the intersection I just turned out of.

Well, it is Independence Day once again. Children everywhere are playing with sparklers and scaring the old lady next door with M-80 firecrackers. Families are eating hot dogs and tossing a football around. All is well in their world.
For this I am thankful. But as most people know, nothing comes without a cost. This independence wasn’t given to the USA. No, it was fought for. And, as one can imagine, many people died for the independence that we enjoy and, probably, take for granted.
So, I took it upon myself to do a little digging and see how many deaths it took to get us here. If you disagree with something, please let me know. I am by no means a history buff, thus I’m bound to make an error.
