Keeping with my oft mentioned promise not to fill this blog with details of my personal life, this will be a short post but a needed one none the less.

At approximately 18:45 hours this evening my wife notified me that we’ve got another bundle of joy heading our way in nine months. My three daughters are all praying for a brother. I promised my wife I wouldn’t get caught up in hoping for a son this time around. I’ll happily take whatever God gives us.

And for those of you who are wondering how many we’re going to have… wait and see.

Okay, two warnings. First off, this is an old story that I’m just now finding out about. And second, I’m dealing with a sexual issue and I don’t plan on being politically correct about it. Now that that’s out of the way…

Last night I came across this story so I bookmarked it and came back tonight. I’ve googled all over the place and the only proof I can find that this is real is that ABC actually did a story on it. I’ve checked the Illinois Supreme Court and Appellate Court Opinions website but found nothing (in all fairness their search engine was down, so I was searching by ‘hand’).

Dr. Richard O. Phillips accuses Dr. Sharon Irons of a “calculated, profound personal betrayal” which supposedly took place six years ago. According to Dr. Phillips he was lead, by Dr. Irons, to believe that she was divorced. Thus the two of them started a relationship that progressed quite well. Over the course of four months, Dr. Phillips claims he and Dr. Irons never had intercourse but did, in fact, have oral sex on three separate occasions. Dr. Phillips goes on to state that once he found out that Dr. Irons was still married he broke off their relationship.

I recently ordered a money map from Crown Financial Ministries and it finally came in today. It’s pretty cool way to get your finances on the right track. The map is a little over simplified though but it covers the main points. For someone like myself who is a bit behind financially this will help me to set some goals and track my progress.

So, I embark on my journey toward my first goal, to increase my savings to $1,000.00. Given the fact that my current living expenses exceed my income by around $600 a month and I’m already in the hole, this may be a long journey.

Oh, for those who are interested, head over to the Crown Money Map website for more information for the money map, and check out their free tools as well. I took their Personality I.D. quiz and it showed that I’m bold, impatient, and all sorts of things. It’s pretty cool.

Here the last two days it seems that all everyone on TV is wanting to do is point fingers. There’s still months of work left to been done along the Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama coastline and instead of focusing on getting it done certain people would rather spend time pointing fingers. Most of it is typical human nature, not wanting to take the blame themselves. Some of the comments made are outright racist. Others show their own ignorance by choosing to speak out. So, I offer this layman’s view of the situation.

This morning my family and I visited Delta Fellowship Church instead of attending the church where we’re members. No particular reason, just felt like it. And, as one can imagine, the recent events in New Orleans came up during the preaching at church this morning.

The preacher, Pastor Treat, mentioned that several had compared the disaster in New Orleans to Sodom and Gomorrah. Pastor Treat went on to say that when people are making these comparisons they mention all the sin that went on in New Orleans. Pastor Treat said it reminded him of the story of Job. Out of nowhere all sorts of afflictions landed on Job and then his ‘friends’ came to him and started telling him that it all happened because of some sin in his life.
