My family and I are spending Thanksgiving week with my dad down in Hamilton, Texas. It’s been a good week so far, though the drive was long. Yesterday we took my girls fishing up at Meridian State Park. It took a while for anyone other than dad to catch anything. Toward the afternoon though, Rebecca caught her first fish. She didn’t have the strength to real it in though, so Christina had to help out. It turned out to be a nice little sun perch, about a half a pound.
Below are a couple pictures I took.

Of course children aren’t known for patience, which is a requirement for fishing. So when they needed a break from sitting and waiting, they picked on, bothered, harassed and just generally terrorized the crap out of this armadillo and a couple of his kin.
At one point, when the girls were trying to catch him and I was trying to take a photo the darn thing ran halfway up my leg trying to get away. I don’t blame the poor fellow. I tend to run when all three of my daughters are chasing me too.
