I know it really doesn’t take much to amuse me, but this really got me excited. Back in 1997 I ran a website on GeoCities under the handle, CyberChristian. I was thrilled to get five or six people a month on that website. I just checked my server logs for 2005 and this blog received over 27,000 unique visitors last year! And my mortgage website racked up nearly 90K visits last year. I know some of you reading this run blogs that get that sort of traffic every month, but for me, that’s huge.

Anyway, here’s a break down of unique visitors per month, per site… for anyone who’s interested.

A while back I announced my switch from Google Adsense to the Yahoo! Publisher Network beta on my Mortgage Knowledgebase website. After checking my stats this evening and comparing the two, I wanted to share my limited findings. Keep in mind that these ads were not ran concurrently because both publishers prohibit it. I’ve ran Yahoo! Publisher Network beta for twenty-nine days now and compared it to the last twenty-nine days that I ran Google Adsense, then went a step further and compare it to the last eighty days that I ran Google Adsense.

Today I finally got around to putting together a plugin for mozilla that will search [thelist] archives at Evolt.org. Nothing fancy, but it works and will save me some time. Maybe it’ll help a few others as well.

Install Evolt search plugin

If you have any problems, let me know. Or you can install it from the Mozilla MyCroft site.

I recently was accepted into the Yahoo! Publisher Network beta program. I’m hoping that it will provide some much needed increase in revenues from my mortgage knowledge base website. I actually wanted to run the yahoo ads simultaneously with the google ads but both companies prohibit that.

Right now I’ve got three ad spots on the site. Top, bottom, and left side. Over the last month it seems the top banner spot is generating the most clicks. But I’m still not getting the $100+ per month I used to make off google. I’m starting to think drupal, as compared to my original template, may be the cause for the drop in ad clicks. What I think would work great would be if there was a way I could get drupal to insert the ad code directly into the articles every couple paragraphs.

Once again I’ve grown tired of the look of my blog and had to revamp it. Unfortunately it took me almost a week this time around. At one point I thought I was finished but I had forgotten to check the site in IE. When I did, I discovered that my div’s were overlapping making my site look like garbage.
